Overview

Swindon Borough Council use the XMAP Publisher to produce high-speed WMS and WFS feeds of their open data and INSPIRE data for publishing on data.gov.uk. With the information hosted on XMAP servers, Rozina doesn't need to worry about keeping the services up-and-running, Geoxphere takes care of that for her.

The Data Sync and XMAP Cloud GIS interface are there to be used to refresh and style the data as required. Swindon uses TAB files as their core mapping format and the XMAP Data Sync tool takes these files and converts them into a PostGIS database behind the scenes, giving great flexibility for presenting through the XMAP Publisher service.
